  THE TIME FOR LIME RESTAURANT!

Many of our cooking “students” have  commented: “This is the best and most beautiful food  we have had on Koh Lanta—and even in Thailand. Why  don’t you have a restaurant?” So, we decided  to take that advice and started our own small beach-front  restaurant two years ago with very good feedback.

You can also enjoy a meal or cocktail  in our newly built Tree-Top restaurant, where you can relish  the sunset breeze while peeking at what our cooking “students” are  creating down below.

The Time for Lime restaurant will serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner every day. We will have a daily “surprise menu” in addition  to our fixed menu.

For more info check out OUR RESTAURANT.

TIME FOR LIME’S longtail boat trips along the west coast with fishing, beach fun, snorkeling, great food, cold wine & beer and BBQ.

We started these trips last year and have had great feedback both from adults and kids. We drive along the west coast of Lanta and stop on the way to try our fishing luck (usually we are lucky). We anchor up on “our” pristine remote beach where we serve up our special Thai & fusion lunch buffet, then it’s time to relax, swim & snorkel - enjoy.! Arriving back at Time for Lime, the BBQ is hot, sample some fresh BBQ squid and see how it should be prepared. - Chilled Italian wine and beer is available on the whole trip for a reasonable price.
The trip also incl. drinking water, life jackets, fishing gear, insurance and free pick-up.

DAY  TRIPS 9.30 AM – 4.30 PM.   7 hours. Price 1400 THB PP
kids under 12 yrs. 1100 THB

  “TIME FOR LIME BOOK”
- recipes and stories about the food, the people and surroundings

Within the 5 years we have been in business many of our guest have asked “where  is your cookbook?” I have finally (almost) managed to realize  that dream. A contract was supposed to be signed??? with the publisher  CAPPELEN in Norway for the Norwegian version of the cookbook. And is now on the market under the title “TID FOR THAI” which means “Time for Thai”, it can be ordered online here or in bookstores in Norway. The original English version is also due out. Hopefully late 2008 under My  own direction. Publishers are more than welcome to show  interest in this, or versions in other languages

The TIME FOR LIME book will feature a large range of recipes, from good, authentic Thai dishes to refreshing Fusion dishes, all contributed from TIME FOR LIME, our neighbors and friends. The book will also include stories about our guests, staff, adopted dogs, and perhaps funny memories similar to your own from your visit to Thailand.

The book will also be a helpful guide for those who have  not yet had a chance to visit “the land of many  smiles,” both food-wise and culturally.

So, if I get my way, it will not be just another traditional cookbook.

If you have any comments on this concept, or you are interested in the book, please e-mail me at Time for  Lime so I can send you availability and ordering information.

- Idea & Concept: Junie Kovacs (creator and owner of Time For Lime)
- Writers: Junie Kovacs and Yngve Ekern (food journalist in the Norwegian news paper Aftenposten, also made 2 cookbooks in Norway in collaboration with others)

LANTA ANIMAL WELFARE

After living on the Island for almost 7 years and have seen the conditions getting worse for the animals especially the overpopulation of dogs, and no vets. here. I decided to start a non -profit “organization” Lanta Animal Welfare 2 years ago,  in hope that I could help more animals than I do alone.  My thought was first and foremost to help solve the overpopulation and suffering  of stray dogs and cats by humane sterilization  programs. There are no government or charitable agencies  to protect them from abuse – only a few local animal  lovers who house large numbers, using our own  funds and manpower. I am still basically alone with this, with help from a few people now and then. In the months July, August, Sep. & Oct. 2008 “We” managed to sterilize & rabies vaccine 380 dogs and cats. I must say this was a success. This could not have been done without the kind collaboration of Soi Dog from Phuket. www.soidog.org and a few very kind donators
As the work load is getting over powering…..

Lanta Animal Welfare is in desperate need of STABLE WORKING VOLUNTEERS and also of course donations!.
PLEASE, Please  help us help the animals. This can be done in many creative ways BY YOU!

Please check out our simple and hurriedly put together Lanta Animal Welfare website at: www.lantaanimalwelfare.com, where you can easily give an donation.
For more info contact  Junie  at TIME FOR LIME  +66 (0) 89-9675017 or via email at
 lanta@timeforlime.net     -      info@lantaanimalwelfare.com

At the moment I house 17 “homeless” dogs, 3 cats,
feeds and try to help. many more

Hope to see (hear) from you soon!
Best regards
Junie
